The Best Dental Implants in Charlotte

Our recommended method for replacing missing or damaged teeth. Dental implants are a vast improvement over traditional replacements because implants are more secure and  look and feel of natural teeth.

Dental Implants

The Ideal Way to Replace Teeth

Many patients suffer from significant damage to their smile and need comprehensive, full-mouth reconstruction. Dr. Robert Harrell uses multiple treatments at Harrell Dental Implant Center to restore smiles, but dental implants are the best choice when it comes to restoring the appearance and function of missing teeth.

Over the past decade, dental implants have emerged as the most important advancement in dentistry. Permanent implant teeth are a vast improvement over traditional replacements such as dentures and bridges. Dr. Harrell has helped thousands of patients have healthy and bright smiles utilizing four types of dental implant procedures.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • Implants are a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth
  • Implant teeth made with dental porcelain are as strong as natural teeth
  • Many patients find that speaking and chewing with implants is as natural as when they had their own teeth
  • To the untrained eye, dental implants are indistinguishable from real teeth
  • Implants prevent bone loss that can accompany missing teeth
  • Dental implants don’t require any special cleaning — just brush and floss as usual

We offer various dental implant services that restore your health, confidence, and smile. These services include:

Single Dental Implants

A single dental implant consists of a titanium post that is inserted into the jawbone to act as the replacement tooth root. It can hold up a denture, bridge, or dental crown.

The prosthetic device resembles an entire tooth, from the crown to the root. A metal post is inserted into the jawbone and fuses with the bone over time. This provides a solid anchor for the tooth. After the post placement, there is a permanent crown placed over it. The crown is usually made of dental porcelain because it looks natural and is strong.

At Harrell Dental Implant Center, we use the latest technology and techniques to ensure that your single dental implant is placed correctly and will fuse appropriately with your jawbone. We also use high-quality materials to create your dental crown, bridge, or denture.

All-on-Four Dental Implants

All-on-four dental implants are a type of dental implant that is used to support an entire arch of teeth, either the upper arch or the lower arch. The all-on-four dental implant procedure involves the placement of four titanium posts into the jawbone, which is then used to support a metal bar that spans across the posts. A metal bar spans across the posts; this is where the custom-made teeth are attached.

Our procedure is a minimally invasive surgery that can be completed in one day and has a success rate of over 98%. We use the latest technology, and our implants are placed using a 3D CT scan for accuracy. Our all-on-four dental implants are placed under the gums, so there is no need for a second surgery to expose the posts.

These implants are an excellent option for patients who miss all their teeth or have severe tooth decay or gum disease. They are also a good option for patients who have had previous dental implant procedures that have failed. All-on-four dental implants are a permanent restoration, as dentists can only remove them.

Denture Stabilization with Mini Implants

Another dental implant we offer at Harrell Dental Implant Center is denture stabilization with mini

implants. The procedure involves placing mini implants in the jawbone to which the denture is snapped on and off. This type of dental implant is far more secure than traditional dentures. The procedure can be completed in one day, allowing patients to eat with their new dentures as soon as they leave the office.

Typically, our dentists place four mini implants in the jawbone, which are then used to support an upper or lower denture. Our mini implants are made of titanium, a biocompatible metal that fuses to the bone over time. The fusion process, known as osseointegration, makes dental implants strong and durable.

Dental Implant Bridges

Dental implant bridges are another type of dental implant we offer. This procedure is used to replace one or more teeth by fusing artificial teeth with metal posts that have been surgically implanted in the jawbone. They are similar to single dental implants but can replace multiple teeth with only two posts.

Implant bridges are made up of two posts on either side of an edentulous area, as opposed to a standard crown and bridge, which needs the altering of natural teeth to put a crown. The outcome is a restoration that resembles your natural teeth in both appearances and feels. Implant bridges can last a lifetime with proper maintenance.

Depending on your individual needs, Dr. Harrell has several dental implant bridge options.

Types of Implants

Single dental implants are the most straightforward way to replace teeth. These prosthetic devices are the equivalent of an entire tooth — from crown to root. A strong metal post is inserted into the jawbone, serving as a solid anchor for the tooth. Once the post fuses with the bone, a permanent crown is placed. Dental porcelain is used to fashion the crown because it is both natural looking and extremely strong.

For patients who are missing most or all of their teeth, the All-on-4 option is the perfect way to create a full set of beautiful, functional teeth. This procedure is similar to single dental implants in that it involves the use of surgical-grade titanium posts. The difference is four-to-six posts are used, strategically placed throughout the upper or lower arch. A metal bar spans across the posts and provides the attachment point for a set of custom-made teeth. These prosthetic teeth are much stronger than dentures, allowing patients to enjoy all the foods they did with their natural teeth. All-on-4 dental implants are considered permanent restorations because they can only be removed by dentists.

The biggest drawback of dentures is that they can be unstable or loose-fitting in the mouth. If you have dentures and are experiencing this problem, denture stabilization is an excellent option for making your appliance more comfortable and functional. The process involves placing mini implants in the jawbone to which the denture be snapped on and off. Implant stabilized dentures are far more secure than traditional dentures. The procedure can be completed in one day, allowing patients to eat with their new denture as soon as they leave the office.

Dental implant bridges are a huge improvement over traditional bridges. Implant bridges are similar to single dental implants, except that multiple teeth can be replaced with only two posts. Unlike a traditional crown and bridge, which requires alteration of natural teeth to place a crown, implant bridges consist of two posts on either side of an edentulous (i.e., toothless) space. Replacement teeth then span the area and provide a more functional eating surface than with typical bridges.

If you are missing one, multiple, or all of your teeth, Dr. Robert Harrell can offer numerous dental implant solutions to help restore your smile and your self-confidence. Just as important, you can once again experience the joy of eating, chewing and speaking without pain or discomfort. Dental implants do not require any special cleaning and can be brushed and flossed daily like natural teeth.

The process of placing dental implants begins with creating a small hole in the jawbone beneath the area in need of a replacement tooth. Dr. Harrell then places a surgical-grade titanium post into the hole. The post has threads similar to those on a screw, making it easier for the surrounding bone to fuse with the post. This process, known as “osseointegration,” is given ample time to complete, although in some instances a crown can be placed on the same day. Regardless, dental implants are topped with a porcelain crown. Combined with a solid anchor within the jaw, these types of crowns give patients full use of their new tooth. In fact, the function and appearance of dental implants is nearly identical to that of natural teeth.

In some cases, sufficient bone mass for placement of the titanium post may not be present in the jaw. Dr. Harrell can perform procedures that increase the bone density and create an ideal substrate for placing dental implants.

There are several dental implant variations that can be beneficial in a full-mouth reconstruction. Several teeth can be replaced with only two posts, or an entire arch of teeth may be seated on only 4 posts, a method known as “all on 4.” Finally, dental implants can be used to create far better dentures, including those which easily snap on and off.

When it comes to full-mouth reconstruction, dental implants are the most powerful tool for restoring your smile. Dr. Harrell has placed countless implants and has helped patients reclaim every aspect of their smile, from function to appearance. If you are ready for a happier and healthier lifestyle, call (704) 541-9888 today to schedule a free, no-obligation smile consultation with Dr. Harrell. During your consultation, a complimentary digital smile preview (an $85 value) will be created to show how you will look when your treatment is complete.

Full-mouth dental implants can cost between $7,000 and $90,000 in NC. The procedure will usually cost about $34,000. While this is the average range of cost, the exact cost will depend on your specific case. Various factors like the number of implants required, whether you need bone grafts or tooth extractions, the kind of sedation you need, and your dental insurance will impact the final cost of the implants.

The average cost of dental implants in NC is between $1,000 and $3,000 per implant. Other components like the crown and abutment will cost between $900 and $3,000.

Dental implants are used to substitute original tooth roots and act as replacement roots. They are permanent and cannot be removed from the mouth. Dentures, on the other hand, only substitute missing teeth. You can take them out and put them back in your mouth whenever you want.
