Smile Again With All-on-4 Dental Implants
Your smile is a powerful and precious part of who you are. This often stands at odds with the fact that we put our teeth through a lot of stress every day. We inundate our mouths with foods and beverages and medications. We chew on ice cubes and hard things that can harm our enamel. Sometimes we grind our teeth at night or while concentrating or lifting heavy at the gym. All of these factors can cause damage. Popular reasons for people to get All-on-4 dental implants include:
- Needing to replace all teeth at once
- Severe decay or infection leading to permanent teeth loss
- Sports or accidental trauma requiring dental restoration

What Are All-On-Four Dental Implants?
All-On-4 dental implants are a full set of implants designed to replace your entire upper or lower set of teeth. They act as a more permanent and natural-looking alternative to dentures.
Traditionally, each dental implant has one small titanium screw that a surgeon inserts into the gums. Then, the dentist places a single false tooth to the screw. With an All-on-4 implant, you don’t need to replace each lost tooth individually. Instead, a dental professional will surgically insert four titanium posts into your jawbone as the main anchors. They can then attach a permanent denture at those four areas for a seamless look across your entire mouth.
The prosthesis will stay in your mouth permanently and look just as natural as your surrounding real teeth. Learn more, compliments of Hiossen

Speech issues are a major concern for patients. What may seem to us to be a minor speech flaw can become an overwhelming concern for the All-on-4 patient. Implant-supported bridges require both vertical and horizontal bulk for strength. Vertical needs vary with different restorative materials, but most bridges require 15 mm or more of height.
As a result, clinicians are forced to replace more than just the volume of the missing teeth in order to achieve these measurements. We must often replace bone and soft-tissue volume, even if it is healthy. The result is that the portion of the bridge adjacent to the soft tissue will be bulkier than the original bone and soft-tissue volume that it replaced.
Consequently, this can have an impact on speech sounds such as “D,” “T,” and “N,” as the tongue contacts the hard palate lingual to the central incisors to form the sound. Likewise, horizontal bulk in the posterior can affect the “S” sound, where the lateral borders of the tongue flare upon making the sound. This can result in slurring.
